Hi!
My name is Wyatt Olesen
I was enrolled in a French immersion program between kindergarten through 8th grade. During that time, I was an exchange student in Paris. While there, I was able to broaden my views of the French culture and take part in the daily life of a French student. I later hosted Gabriel, the French student, and my new friend, who hosted me at my home; I shared American culture and cuisine, and provided a tour of the Washington D.C. area, where I lived for 12 years.I was afforded many cross-cultural opportunities while living on the East Coast, such as traveling to and translating French in Quebec and participating in the Model UN program where I traveled to Madrid and stayed with a Spanish family.
My family and I moved to Bainbridge Island, WA during the pandemic. I am now a rising Junior at Bainbridge High School where I play baseball, football, and serve as an Academic Coach for the French III course. I also maintain my French language skills through taking an advanced French course, watching French movies, and reading and speaking French.
Once I graduate high school, I plan on continuing my studies in French and diplomacy.
I am familiar with how hard yet rewarding change and learning new skills can be. I offer empathy and patience and look forward to supporting you on your journey of learning the beautiful French language and all it has to offer!
